Benjamin F. Sapp

December 21, 1929 ~ May 19, 2017 (age 87)

Benjamin Franklin Sapp passed away on May 19, 2017 at his home in Norwalk.  He was born December 21, 1929 at the family home in Buffalo Center to Edna (Ott)  and Herman Sapp.

He attended high school in Nevada, IA and was awarded a basketball scholarship in 1947 to Drake University where he was on the same team with his older brother, Bill.  He graduated in 1951 with a degree in business administration and then was drafted. 

Benjamin was a proud Army veteran and served during the Korean War.  He was a Vice President and Senior Appraiser for United Federal Savings.  He enjoyed traveling, biking, golf, dancing and working in the yard.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy, daughter, Roxanne Kraft and her husband, Ted;  son Marc;  stepson Kirk Grier; two granddaughters Tiffany McFarland and Nicole Hanlon, and  5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bill and his sister Betty O’Neil.
