Jane's Life Story
Jane, the daughter of Merle and Mildred (Seevers) Morrison, was born on May 12, 1933 in Sioux City, Iowa. Jane, along with her younger brother, grew up in Sergeant Bluff, IA graduating from high school there. Following school she attended the University of Iowa. After college she traveled to England and parts of Europe. She returned to Sioux City where she worked at the Sioux City Journal. During this time she met her husband, Howard “Andy” Anderson. Together they made their home in Sioux Falls, SD and had three children, Mark, Scott and Lisa. Shortly thereafter, Howard and Scott died in an automobile accident in 1962.
Jane returned with her two children to Sergeant Bluff where she met her second husband, Sylvester Zepeda. They married in 1967, had a son Daniel in 1969, and later moved to Des Moines. Jane worked as a homemaker raising their children. Jane loved her job and worked as an Administrative Secretary for COMS, now Des Moines University, retiring in 2000. In 2005 Jane moved to Indianola to be near her daughter and son-in-law.
Jane loved to ballroom dance, taking classes and competing throughout the Midwest. When she was younger Jane enjoyed vacationing at the lake and fishing. Jane also enjoyed relaxing on her front porch, sharing a cup of coffee with her friends and family, and maybe with a bit of ice cream too, her favorite treat.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Paulette) Anderson of Richmond, VA, Lisa (Bo) Seidenkranz of Indianola, IA and Daniel Zepeda; a brother, Bruce (Anne) Morrison of Sergeant Bluff, IA; 8 grandchildren, Scott (Lacey), Tyler, Ethan, Jennifer (Jon), Susan, and Robert; and a host of great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; her son, Scott; and step-children, Antonio and Andrea Zepeda.
