Janice Lee was born September 22, 1937, to Paul and Myrtle (Bancroft) Cameron in Green County Iowa. She grew up with a family of six, she had two sisters Marvel and Madalene; and one brother LaVerne. They lived on a farm in the Scranton area. They raised sheep, hogs, cattle, and had several horses. All the children were involved in 4H and participated in the county and state fairs. In 1951 the family made the move to Warren County eventually settling in Norwalk. Janice graduated from Norwalk High School in 1956 and soon after attended airline school. Janice was proud of graduating from airline school to become a stewardess.

While in high school, she met a boy named Charles “Charlie” Brick.  They were married in May of 1959. Janice and Charlie lived at 205 Station Street in Cumming for their whole lives. The plan was to have four boys, however they were blessed with four daughters; Frances (Frank), Paulette (Paul), Charlene (Charly), and Patricia (Pat).

Janice worked hard serving others; she was a car hop, a book keeper, a baker, a janitor, a housewife, chief cook & bottle washer. Also known as the CEO of Charles Brick Enterprises. In her house there was always room for one more set of feet under the table. Baking was her passion, cakes were her specialty. She made cakes for every occasion. She made each of her daughter’s wedding cakes. When she wasn’t caring for her family she was caring for the church hall in Cumming. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and helped organize numerous events for the town of Cumming including the Cumming Centennial.

Janice died peacefully in her home on Friday September 29, 2017.

Janice is preceded in death by her husband Charlie in 2006, and a great grandson John Caleb.

Janice is survived by her four daughters Frances Hoffman, Paulette (Chris) Pettit, Charlene (Dennis) Dollison, and Patricia (Russ) Brittain; her siblings Marvel Griffey, LaVerne (Carrol) Cameron, and Madalene (Jack) Lane; 18 grandkids; 17 great grandkids; a host of extended family; and her life long companion, her dog, Missy.
