Joel's Life Story
Joel Nathan Davis, the youngest child of Randy Lynn, Jr. and Tanya Renee (nee: Shute) Davis, was born on April 1, 1999 in Des Moines. Joel attended elementary school in Des Moines through the fifth grade. His family moved to Norwalk in 2010 where Joel entered middle school. He graduated from Norwalk High School with the Class of 2017. When younger Joel played baseball and was involved with Boy Scouts. He enjoyed drawing and was planning to be a Graphic Artist following college. He enjoyed writing and sharing his experiences in life. Joel was obsessed with the military and ever since he was six years of age wanted to serve his country in the United States Marines. Joel worked at Villaggio in Norwalk for the past four years.
Joel loved all little furry creatures such as squirrels, bunnies, raccoons, but especially loved his family’s cat, a long-hair flame point Siamese named Taffy. He loved his three nieces, Elenee, Everlee, and Emma and hoped to one day have daughters that looked just as cute as them.
Joel gave the gift of life, and second chances through organ donation, following his death on Tuesday evening, September 11, 2018. Joel lived 19 years, five months, and ten days. He was preceded by his paternal grandfather, Randy Davis, Sr.; his great-grandpa, Fred Boarts; his uncle, Christopher Davis; and a first cousin, Donny Shiffer Jr.
Those left to cherish Joel’s memories include his parents, Randy and Tanya of Norwalk; a sister, Aimee Davis-Johnston (Greg) and their children, Elenee, Everlee and Emma; a brother Jesse Davis; and grandparents, Debra Campbell, Merrill Shute, and Vickie Davis; great-grandma, Marilyn Boarts; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many great friends.
Joel had a love of genealogy and loved his “Davis” name. He had a deep love for all of his family and friends and was always there for anyone that ever needed him.
