Julie Kristine (Hall) Hodges

February 3, 1973 ~ October 6, 2019 (age 46)

Julie Kristine Hodges, age 46, died Sunday morning, October 6, 2019 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.

Julie, the second daughter of Jim Ray and Jeannetta Marie (Marsh) Hall, was born on February 3, 1973 in Des Moines, Iowa.  Julie grew up in Norwalk along with her older sister, Jodi.  She graduated from Norwalk High School with the Class of 1991.   Julie was blessed with two children Tod born in 1993 and Kaylee in 1999.  She worked for her father's business, Jim's Gun & Pawn Shop in Des Moines.  In 2010, she earned her Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) degree from Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC). 

Julie is survived by her father Jim Hall of Norwalk; two children, Tod Hodges and his three month old son, Abel and Kaylee Hodges and her one year old son Huxlee all of Norwalk; her life-partner these past 8 years, Allen Kimball of Norwalk; a sister, Jodi Jensen of Puerto Morelos, Mexico, and her two sons Todd and Tanner Jensen; her really good friend since childhood, Heather Baker-Page; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, October 11th at the Redeemer Norwalk Baptist Church followed by burial in the Norwalk Cemetery.  A visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 10th at O'Leary Funeral Services in Norwalk.

In lieu of flowers the family will greatly appreciate donations to assist with funeral cost; and may be sent to the family via the green "appeal for donations" tab on this screen or by calling O'Leary's at (515) 981-0700.  Checks made payable to O'Leary Funeral Services and mailed to P.O. Box 171, Norwalk, IA 50211 or brought to the visitation/service will be accepted.  All monetary donations will be itemized, and a list given to the family for their acknowledgement.
