Mark Wayne Anderson, age 63, of Zearing died Friday, June 28th at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames following a short illness.
Services will held Saturday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m. at the Zearing Christian Church, with Pastor Adam Koester officiating.
Mark Wayne Anderson was born April 17, 1956 to Howard and Jane (Zepeda) Anderson.
Mark graduated from Roosevelt High School. He studied Carpentry/Building trades at DMACC and spend years as a master Carpenter, before working for Ken and Margie Howe of Kens Appliances in Ames. Mark married Ruth Kennedy and together they had three children, Jennifer, Susan and Robert. He co-owned A&E Construction and built houses and later held the position of Senior Building Equipment Operator at Des Moines International Airport. Mark later married Paulette Graham, and they lived in Richmond, Virginia where Mark worked as the Superintendent of Facilities Maintenance for the City.
He liked building things, camping, fishing and fixing cars.
Mark was a good Dad, a true Christian and believed in following the ways of God. He was kind, honest, and loved his family deeply.
Mark passed away peacefully at Israel Family Hospice in Ames on Friday, June 28th.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Scott and Tony.
Mark will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Paulette, his children, Jennifer Carruthers of Cedar Rapids, Susan Anderson of Marshalltown and Robert Anderson (Mary) of Des Moines; his sister, Lisa Seidenkranz and brother Danny; and his grandchildren Troy Downey, Dominick Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson and Freedom Anderson.
