Randy's Life Story

Randy, the son of Robert and Eva Jean Wright was born on February 10, 1953, in Creston, Iowa. They moved to Des Moines and then settled in Waukee, where he attended high school and graduated in 1971. After graduation he went on to work for the railroad. Randy had two children; Christopher and Lindsie.  He retired from the railroad after 28 years. Randy and Susan met in Des Moines and united in marriage in 1984 in Waukee.

Randy was an avid racecar fan, and loved riding his Harley Davidson. Randy learned how to hunt starting with squirrels, and then upgraded to deer, some of which are displayed in his home. He enjoyed fishing and was a loyal Oakland Raiders football fan.  Randy was great at teaching meaningful life lessons, and passing his knowledge onto his kids and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed spending time with his all family and attending all his grandchildren’s schooling and sporting events.

Randy is survived  by his wife Susan of Norwalk; his children, Christopher (Katie) of Birmingham, MI, and Lindsie (Tony) Hayes of Urbandale, IA; his siblings, Roberta (Dennis) Petty of Grimes, Penny (Dick) Jess of Urbandale, and Walter (Terry) of Skiatook, OK; Sheryl (Dick) Ledlie of Des Moines; three grandchildren, Kate, Abby and John; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Lewin of Indianola, and 11 Nieces and Nephews and their families.

Preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Eva Jean Wright; a brother, Kevin; a nephew, Richard Petty; and his father-in-law, Floyd Lewin.
