Shane's Life Story

Shane Paul Johnson was born on November 18, 1973 to Gerald and Wendy Johnson in Austin, MN. Growing up an only child, Shane enjoyed his time playing sports like hockey, football, and baseball; he loved hockey the most. He played as a goalie and for a time you can say he lived at the hockey arena. He was also a dedicated fan of the Minnesota Vikings.

Throughout his life Shane was always active. Whether he was swimming, biking around Des Moines, or horseback riding at his parent’s house with his daughter, Elizabeth. He shared his joy of horseback riding with his parents; they were always riding together. He passed this passion down to his daughter who has been riding since a young age.

In his down time he would spend time restoring jewelry. He would spend time doing this work in down town Des Moines. He was very generous and would give the restored pieces to those he met down town. Shane was also an active member and sponsor for AA.

Shane Johnson, age 43, of Des Moines, earned his wings on November 8, 2017 at his home.
