Barbara Jean Barcus was born May 13, 1942 to Hubert Herbert and Alice Marie (Collins) Barcus in Des Moines, Iowa.
Barb was known as a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cookouts, going to tupperware and friendly home parties, bowling leagues (where she met Fred), camping and going to flea markets in Missouri, and was well-known by her close friends and family for her cooking and baking.
Barb passed away Sunday afternoon, September 12, 2021 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. She lived 79 years, three months, and 30 days. She was receded in death by her parents; a grandson Timothy Allen 2002; siblings, Baby Barcus in 1930, Richard Henry Barcus in 1952, Sharon Kay Barcus in 1996, and Norma Jane Barcus in 2015.
Her companion of nearly 10 years Fred Cahhal of Des Moines; her children, Cherie Van Sickle (Frank Hill), Debra Casey, Lori Wood (James Sparks), Carol (Rob) Rogers, Todd Meyers, Robert Webb, and Gary Meyers; a sister, JoAnn Marie Barcus Kinman who lives in Topek, MI; Fred's children, Linna Allman and Dale Little; grandchildren, Ronald (Donna), JayCee, Jamie, Harley (Sierra), Randi, Cheyenne, Jalissa, Mary (Daniel), Charles (Sydney), Todd, Katy, Russell (Ally), Bobbie (John), Dusty, Christopher, Earl, Janet (Greg), Derek, Bobby, and Billy; several great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; and a host of other relatives, family and friends.
