Brian Kohl Bailey, age 67, died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Indianola early Thursday morning January 20, 2022.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 28th, with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. Lunch with the family will follow the service.
Brian was born in Iowa City, IA on November 5, 1954 to Dr. John and Rosemary (Gray) Bailey of Anamosa, IA. He graduated from Anamosa High School in 1973. He received his Associates Degree in Bio Med Technoloy from DMACC where he serviced and installed medical equipment in central Iowa for over 25 years. Brian retired from Cassling Diagnostic Imaging in July 2020. During his retirement, he enjoyed camping with his family and gaming online with his boys and the Destiny crew.
Brian lived in rural Indianola with the love of his life Theresa (Terri) since 1987, and as foster parents they raised several children. As a foster parent of 30 years he opened his doors and his heart to teens in need of a place to call home. He taught his children the values of hard work, excel in whatever profession you choose and the importance family.
Brian will be lovingly remembered by his wife Theresa (Terri), his brother Phil Bailey oldest living son Matthew (Marymichele), children Katie Mulford, Michele Wiegert, Michael Merrick, Holly (Kelly) Hulsebus, Sean (Aslynn) Maudlin, Gabrielle Maudlin, Bob Miranda, Rob Silliman (Katie Nicole), Eric Furry, Elle Wolf and several other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. John and Rosemary Bailey, his son, Jason and brother Dr. William (Bill) Bailey.
