Life Story of Edna Elliott
Edna June Rodgers was born in Des Moines on November 21, 1928 and lived most of her life in Carlisle before moving to Bondurant. Edna was married to Robert J. Elliott on October 16, 1954.
Some of Edna's favorite things were watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones when Fred Hoiberg was the coach. The highlight of the year was the Iowa State Fair, where you could often find her from open to close. The horse races, where more often than not she picked the winner, including many Kentucky Derby horses. She enjoyed holidays and family gatherings where every meal was her favorite. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports. She liked any story or show about the Royal family and as far as she and the rest of us are concerned, she was our Queen.
