John Neal Lohner Jr. age 81, died Monday morning, June 1, 2020 at Regency Nursing Home in Norwalk.  A Celebration of Life Visitation will be 12 Noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 7th at O'Leary Funeral Services in Norwalk.  

[Due to COVID-19 restrictions we are only allowed 50% of building seating capacity of people during visitation hours to be present during this time.  Funeral home staff will monitor this number; and for those attending you may be asked to wait outside until guest that had arrived earlier exit the building.   We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time.  For questions concerning either the funeral or the visitation please call the funeral home at (515) 981-0700.]

John Lohner's Life Story

John was the son of John Neal Sr. and Florence (Farmer) Lohner, born on July 20, 1938 in Spencer, Iowa and graduated from Fairfield High school. He met Darlene Mae Stroud and they married October 11, 1965. 

After working in sales early in his career John became an entrepreneur who owned several retail and whole sales businesses for most of his adult life. John was passionate about magic and was a performing magician throughout the Midwest as a young adult, which he later turned into a retail business. On occasion performing for his grandchildren at birthday parties or for fun. Later in life John enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a wonderful and supportive husband, father, grandfather.

John is survived by his four children, Philip (Karen) of West Plains, MO, Tony (Jennifer) Lohner of Norwalk, IA, Trey (Angie) Lohner of Tampa Bay, FL and Bonnie Risius of Des Moines; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
