Lucas Wade Tassin was born to Craig Tassin & Tricia (Hurley) Warrender on May 31, 1994 in Des Moines, Iowa. Growing up in Des Moines, Lucas attended Southeast Polk High School. It was during this time that he learned how to play the piano as well as picking up the guitar and play a song by ear. As a result of these musical talents, he was joined a couple of bands, playing alongside his friends. Lucas graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 2012.
It was in 2012 that Lucas met Taya Benson, the mother of his two children, the pride & joy of his life - Finley Ann & Leland Alan.
After high school, Lucas was fortunate to meet Phil Barber, who offered him a job opportunity at Brewer Meats. Lucas loved working for Phil. Within the years they worked together, a friendship was formed that had a positive, lasting impression on Lucas.
When he was not working, he enjoyed spending time with friends skateboarding around town, listening to music, and genuinely enjoying life to the fullest.
The one thing Lucas loved the most was spending time with his family!
Lucas unexpectedly left a void in the hearts of his family & friends on May 7, 2021. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Betty Howell, grandfather Darrell Hurley, step-grandmother Bonnie Foley, Grandmother Marty Warrender, and stepmother Lori Tassin.
Lucas’ memory will forever live on through his children Finley & Leland, and cherished by his parents Craig (Jodi) Tassin of Des Moines, Tricia (Bill) Warrender of LeGrand and stepfather Kelly Hemping; grandparents Leroy & Janelle Tassin of Bondurant, step-grandparents Ted (Lori) Eddleman of Milo, Janet Eddleman of Milo, Jerry Warrender of Washta, Larry Foley of New Virginia; and his eight siblings: Levi (Madeline) Tassin of Oakland, CA, Logan (Bella) Hemping of Des Moines, Liberty (Kelly) Hemping of Des Moines, Jacob Tassin of Des Moines, Drew Tassin of Des Moines, Lauren (Spencer) Lowry of Indianola, Alexis (Christian) Gonzales of Afton, and Evan Warrender of Des Moines.
