Merideth's Life Story

Merideth Lynn Farnsworth, the daughter of Joseph Earl and Mary Ann (Cunningham) was born June 23, 1966 in Des Moines, Iowa.  She grew up on the southside of Des Moines where she learned and later helped teach dance at the Betty Hill Studio.  She graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1984.  She attended the University of Northern Iowa graduating with a communications major in 1989.  Merideth worked at Ingram Entertainment as a sales representative selling videos to retail outlets.

Merideth met her future husband Mike Winfrey at Paesano's Pizza where she worked part-time.  They were married on November 16, 1996 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Des Moines; at this time she became a mother to her step-sons Chad and Michael.  Together they made their home in west of Norwalk; three years ago moving into their new home in town.

Merideth enjoyed her frequent trips to Prairie Meadows, making meals for Mike, and socializing with her many life-long friends; where she was often times the life of the party.  If Merideth gave nickname to someone it meant they held a special place in her heart.  She and Mike enjoyed traveling and spending the winter months at their home in southern California.

Merideth loved her family more than anything was very proud of her five grandchildren; and all of her nieces and nephews.  She would always brag about their accomplishments with their sports, choir, and other activities.

Merideth passed away unexpectedly at her home in Norwalk on Monday, July 6, 2020.  She lived 54 years and 13 days.  Merideth was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 24 years Mike Winfrey; two step-sons, Chad (Sarah) and Michael (Nichole); five grandchildren, Hailey, Kendra, Kayden, Mason, and Brett; her two younger siblings, Joe (Cindy) Farnsworth and Melissa (David) Stewart; her four nieces, Morgan (Jesse), Carley, Alexis, and Zoe; and several other nephews, nieces and great-nephews and nieces.
