Nancy Diane (West) Abbott was born on August 30, 1951 in Red Oak, Iowa to LeRoy & Janice (Isaacson) West.
Along with growing up in Red Oak, Nancy’s family moved to Creston where she attended Creston High School and graduated 1969. While attending school in Creston, Nancy rode the bus to school with her future husband, Danny Abbott, who use to pick on her.
After graduation, Danny & Nancy stayed in touch and eventually started dating in 1972. That courtship led to Nancy marrying the love of her life on October 21, 1973 at the Methodist church in Creston, Iowa. Nancy & Danny started a family and brought into this world two beautiful daughters, Jessica & Danielle.
Nancy enjoyed being with her family. She had a love for all animals, especially cats and her grand-dog, Molly. But most of all, the love for her four grandchildren will forever be cherished. She adored spending time with Justin, Jacob, Kayleigh and Lane, and attending their various activities & sporting events.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy & Janice West, sister Norma Smith, nephew Cheney Nolan and great niece Kasey Adamson.
The memory of Nancy will forever be cherished by her loving husband, Danny Abbott of Martensdale; daughters Jessica (Jason) Abbott-Bender of Martensdale and Danielle (Luke) Abbott-Klages of Indianola; grandchildren Jacob Bender, Justin Bender, Kayleigh Klages and Lane Klages; brother Darwin (June) West of Creston; brother-in-law Doug Smith of Granbury, Texas, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
