Rodney Frank Deming, age 67, of St Marys, IA died peacefully Monday evening, April 6, 2020 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Rod, the son of William Frank and Nadean Garriette (Richardson) Deming was born on June 6, 1952 in Ames, Iowa. Rod grew up in Huxley, Iowa where he graduated from high school with the Class of 1970. Following school Rod drove truck for and worked various jobs throughout central Iowa. For the last 20 plus years of his driving career; he worked for J&J Delivery in Des Moines retiring in 2012.
Rod was married to Amy Deming for several years and adopted her daughter, Andrea. On November 25, 1989 Rod married the love of his life Mary Chris Lippold near Churchville, IA. Together they made their home in St. Marys and had two children, Michael and Erin. Rod was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his handful of quality friends and relatives. He also enjoyed working in his yard, the home, and occassionally going to the casino.
Rod is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary of St. Marys; his children, Andrea O'Berry of Des Moines, Michael Deming of Indianola, and Erin Deming of Des Moines; a grandson, Adicus O'Berry of Des Moines; a sister, Lois; and his father and mother-in-law, Jerome and Kathleen Lippold of St. Marys. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Phillip Deming; and a grandson, Leviticus O'Berry.
