Ruth, 93, passed peacefully Friday, January 28, 2022, at Regency Care Center in Norwalk. She was born February 14, 1928, to Alva and Cleta (Sickels) Pyle in rural southern Iowa.
Ruth lived most of her life in Warren County where she and her husband farmed for many years and raised three children. She was a dedicated Catholic and attended St. John the Apostle in Norwalk. She had a zest for life and loved traveling the world.
She opened her heart and raised many children who needed a home including several foreign exchange students. She enjoyed quilting and sewing and made both of her daughters’ wedding gowns. She grew a large garden and she loved canning produce from the bountiful harvest.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Fred Knosby and her son Thomas Knosby; brother Lee Pyle and sister Doris Porter.
She is survived by daughters Karen Hogue (Eldon) of Sebring, FL and Constance Leach (Denis) of Leesburg, FL; granddaughters Jill Perez (Charlie) and Julie Schrodt of Atlanta, GA, Vanessa Facer (Rob) of Charlottesville, VA; great-grandchildren Caroline Hester, David Perez, Matt Perez, and Jacob Facer; sister Louise Hay and brother Eldon Pyle (Jackie); many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
