Shirley Kirschbaum’s Life Story
Shirley was born on August 19, 1934 to Dale and Violet (Greenland) Warner. She grew up in the Des Moines area and graduated from East High School. Shirley married Delbert Kirschbaum and they were blessed with four children: Delbert, Dean, David and Deborah. While her children were young, Shirley was a stay-at-home mom. She loved taking care of her children, and always put them first. She was known for cooking three meals a day, every single day. Her pizza was a favorite for many, and roast she made for Sunday family dinners was always delicious.
After her children were grown, Shirley started working at American Republic Insurance as a Claims Specialist. She worked there for twenty years before retiring.
Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Delbert, Dean and David; her sister Darlene “DeeDee” (Don) Bowers, her seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Deborah Kirschbaum-Daniels.
